Snowy Peak Limited was founded in 1981 by a nurse named Peri Drysdale who knew nothing about business. A nurse that didn't know the difference between an invoice and a statement, or a debtor and creditor. In fact, a nurse who didn't know how to knit either - something that most business people don't need to know how to do, but a useful skill when starting up a cottage industry producing knitted garments. Despite this, within four years Peri had over 500 home knitters creating garments for her.

Peri has pushed the boundaries of technology throughout the history of Snowy Peak Ltd. She pioneered the use of Possum fibre in fashion through the development of the acclaimed Merinomink™ brand in 1996. Concerned about the environmental degradation she was witnessing, Peri chose to do something about it and developed sustainable fashion brand Untouched World™ in 1998.

Not only our philosophies, but a wealth of corporate sustainability initiatives sit behind the luxury and style of Snowy Peak Ltd brands. The company staff enthusiastically engage in unique and creative projects such as the sustainable staff cook-off, the spirit team, the children's Christmas party and the Untouched World™ Charitable Trust.
